Prison Island (known as Changuu Island) which is located in the western part of Zanzibar Island. It takes around 30minutes by local boat riding from the Stone Town beach. The island was once used by an Arab slave trader to contain the more troublesome slaves to prevent their escape before shipping them to the Arabian purchasers, the main attraction of the island are popular Giant Tortoises, peacock who can live up to 200 years.
Jozani Forest is the one of the last remaining sanctuaries in the world it contain red colobus monkey. The forest has 2,512 hectares (6,207 acres) in size and was declared a nature reserve in the 1960′s. In 1993, the Jozani Forest was declared as a National Park and home the endemic Kirk’s Red Colobus monkey, blue (gray) Sykes’ monkey, chameleons, dik-dik antelopes, and wild pigs. During the guided walk, you will discover the secrets of this small tropical forest and the nearby mangrove forest.
